AZERBAIJAN SENDS HUMANITARIAN AID TO IRAN ON THE PRESIDENT’S INSTRUCTIONS

BAKU (Azerbaijan), March 10 (Bernama-AZERTAC) -- Humanitarian aid has been dispatched to Iran, 

On the instructions of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the Azerbaijan State News Agency (AZERTAC) reported.

The humanitarian assistance was organised by Azerbaijan’s relevant state institutions and sent to support the Iranian population affected by the recent developments and humanitarian situation in the country.

The aid reflects Azerbaijan’s solidarity and support for the Iranian people during this difficult period.

The humanitarian cargo includes nearly 30 tonnes of food products. 

According to AZERTAC, the shipment includes 10 tonnes of flour, 6 tonnes of rice, 2.4 tonnes of sugar, more than 4 tonnes of drinking water, nearly 600 kilogrammes of tea, as well as close to 2 tonnes of medicines and medical supplies.

The trucks carrying the humanitarian aid have already been dispatched and will reach their destination shortly.

The humanitarian assistance was organised following the telephone conversation held on March 8 between the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, and the President of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Masoud Pezeshkian, in order to support the current needs of the neighbouring and friendly Iranian people.
