NINE HOSPITALS IN IRAN CEASE WORKING AFTER ATTACKS

10/03/2026 06:48 PM

TEHRAN, March 10 (Bernama-dpa) -- Nine hospitals have had to cease operations as a result of United States (US)-Israeli airstrikes in Iran, reported German Press Agency (dpa).

Since the beginning of the current conflict, 18 emergency departments and 25 health centres have also been damaged, and 14 ambulances have been destroyed, the Iranian news agency ILNA reported on Tuesday, citing lawmaker Mohammad Jamalian, a member of the health commission.

If the conflict continues, Iran's strategic medicine supplies will last for at least six months, the politician said, adding that there are already shortages of some medicines.

Non-essential procedures such as cosmetic surgeries have been suspended in hospitals until further notice, he said.

The focus is now on treating injuries caused by the US-Israel airstrikes and other emergencies.

Nationwide, 1,400 injured people are reportedly being treated as inpatients, he said.
