INDONESIA, INDIA FOREIGN MINISTERS DISCUSS WEST ASIA CONFLICT, TIES

JAKARTA, March 13 (Bernama) -- Indonesia and India held discussions on the ongoing conflict in West Asia, underscoring the importance of close coordination on regional and global developments.

The discussions took place during a phone conversation between Indonesian Foreign Minister Sugiono and India’s External Affairs Minister Subrahmanyam Jaishankar.

Both ministers also discussed bilateral ties and agreed to convene the Indonesia-India Joint Commission Meeting at the earliest mutually convenient time to further enhance cooperation between the two countries.

Subrahmanyam Jaishankar said on his official account on the social media platform X that he was pleased to speak with Sugiono and that they exchanged views on developments in West Asia.

“Discussed bilateral ties and agreed to hold the Joint Commission meeting at an early date,” he posted on Thursday.

Meanwhile, Sugiono described the call as productive and said both sides agreed to enhance cooperation through the upcoming Joint Commission Meeting.

“Agreed to enhance our bilateral cooperation in the next Joint Commission Meeting to be convened at the earliest mutually convenient time, and stay closely coordinated on regional and global developments,” he posted on his account on the social media platform X on Thursday night.
