ISTANBUL, March 18 (Bernama-Anadolu) -- Saudi Arabia will host a meeting of foreign ministers from a number of Arab and Muslim countries to discuss ways to support regional security and stability, the country’s Foreign Ministry said Tuesday.
Anadolu Ajansi reported the ministry in a statement said the “consultative ministerial meeting” will be held in the capital Riyadh on Wednesday evening.
The meeting aims to enhance “consultation and coordination on ways to support the security and stability of the region,” according to the statement.
It did not specify which nations will participate.
The development comes as Israel and the US have continued a joint offensive on Iran since Feb 28, killing around 1,300 people so far, including then-Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.
Iran has retaliated with drone and missile strikes targeting Israel, Jordan, Iraq and Gulf countries hosting US military assets, causing casualties and damage to infrastructure while disrupting global markets and aviation.
