CAIRO, March 19 (Bernama-WAFA) -- Palestine on Tuesday submitted a request to convene an extraordinary session of the Council of the Arab League at the level of permanent representatives after Israel unilaterally ended the Gaza ceasefire agreement, the Palestine News and Info Agency (WAFA) reported.

Palestine’s Permanent Representative to the League of Arab States, Ambassador Muhannad Al-Aklouk stated that Israeli actions have killed hundreds of Palestinians including over 100 children, in a wave of bloody air strikes targeting five Gaza municipalities at around 3 am local time.

The death toll has topped 404 with more than 564 others wounded, according to the Palestinian Health Ministry.

Emergency teams are attempting to recover victims still trapped beneath the rubble.

Al-Aklouk added that the Arab League Council is anticipated to examine the Arab and international action required to oblige Israel to halt its aggression against the Palestinian people and comply with international law and United Nations resolutions.
