KUALA LUMPUR, March 20 (Bernama) -- In conjunction with the upcoming Syawal, the Sustainable Energy Development Authority (SEDA) Malaysia and Jakel Group spread joy to orphans and asnaf children through the 'Shopping Raya' programme.

In a statement today, SEDA Malaysia said the programme was part of its Tautan Kasih corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiative, which has been held annually since 2021, benefiting selected orphanages and asnaf children.

SEDA Malaysia Chief Operating Officer Koh Keng Sen stated that the programme, in collaboration with Jakel Group, assisted 39 orphans and asnaf children at Rumah Jalinan Kasih, Cheras, in selecting essential items for Aidilfitri.

“This Raya Shopping programme aims to lighten the burden of the less fortunate, sharing the joy of Aidilfitri with the hope that it brings happiness to the children of Rumah Jalinan Kasih while encouraging the charitable act of giving alms during Ramadan.

“A total of RM20,000 was donated for this programme, covering the purchase of Raya essentials for the children of Rumah Jalinan Kasih, aged one to 17 years, as well as donations in the form of ‘goodies’ and ‘duit raya’,” he added.
