SEREMBAN, March 21 (Bernama) -- The Negeri Sembilan branch of the Domestic Trade and Cost of Living Ministry (KPDN) yesterday seized 4,389 suspected counterfeit goods, with a total value of RM127,150.
Its director, Mohammad Zahir Mazlan said among the seized goods were pants, shirts, slippers, shoes, and handbags of various brands, and believed to be counterfeits in an operation codenamed Operation Gempur Barang Tiruan, conducted in conjunction with Hari Raya Aidilfitri 2025 at the Senawang Aidilfitri Bazaar.
He said the raid was conducted as a result of complaints from the trademark owner and members of the public.
"In the operation, six locals, aged 20 to 50, were detained at the location to help with investigations,” he said in a statement here today.
"The operation. carried out from 9 pm, involved 66 state KPDN enforcement officers, 11 Royal Malaysia Police officers as well as 12 representatives from the trademark owner.”
Mohammad Zahir said eight investigation papers have been opened and investigations are being conducted under Section 102(1)(b) of the Trademarks Act 2019.
He also said that complaints about traders' misconduct regarding non-compliance, along with complete details, can be submitted via WhatsApp at 019-848 8000, the Ez ADU KPDN smartphone application, or by contacting the Call Centre at 1-800-886-800.
