KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 18 (Bernama) -- The Digital Ministry is in discussions with the Ministry of Entrepreneur and Cooperatives Developments (KUSKOP) to formulate a policy aimed at helping micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) adopt digitalisation in their businesses.
Digital Minister Gobind Singh Deo said the discussions had been held with KUSKOP and relevant stakeholders two weeks ago.
“Firstly, MSMEs fall under the jurisdiction of KUSKOP, and we are specifically discussing how to ensure they can adopt technology in their businesses.
“Secondly, we are looking at how we can create an environment that ensures cost-effective solutions for these businesses,” he said at a press conference after the launch of the “Impact Study on Artificial Intelligence, Digitalisation, and the Economy on Malaysia’s Workforce”, here today.
Also present at the press conference were Human Resources Minister Steven Sim and Deputy Minister of Higher Education Datuk Mustapha Sakmud.
Gobind said he had submitted proposals and feedback to KUSKOP regarding the upcoming policy and would take the matter to the next level.
“I hope we can conclude the discussion this month, allowing us to make decisions about policy and next steps by the end of the year,” he said.
