KUALA LUMPUR, March 10 (Bernama) -- Malaysia’s palm oil exports in February 2025 eased by 16.27 per cent to 1.00 million tonnes from 1.19 million tonnes in January 2025, said the Malaysian Palm Oil Board (MPOB).
In its February 2025 industry performance report, MPOB said crude palm oil (CPO) production for the month slid by 4.16 per cent, or 51,516 tonnes, to 1.18 million tonnes from 1.23 million tonnes in the preceding month.
Palm kernel output declined by 2.25 per cent month-on-month to 284,959 tonnes in February from 291,524 tonnes in the previous month.
The production of crude palm kernel oil dropped by 5.11 per cent to 130,146 tonnes from 137,158 tonnes in January, while palm kernel cake fell by 5.81 per cent to 142,997 tonnes from 151,813 tonnes previously.
In terms of stock, MPOB reported that CPO stocks were up by 4.66 per cent to 826,248 tonnes in February against 789,435 tonnes in January.
Processed palm oil stockpiles slid 13.27 per cent to 685,852 tonnes in February 2025 from 790,817 tonnes in the preceding month, while total palm oil stocks narrowed by 4.31 per cent to 1.51 million tonnes from 1.58 million tonnes a month before.
MPOB said the palm kernel oil exports increased by 1.03 per cent to 58,144 tonnes in February from 57,554 tonnes in January.
Palm kernel cake exports also inched higher by 9.86 per cent to 194,894 tonnes in February from 177,396 tonnes in the previous month, while biodiesel exports ticked up by 24.43 per cent to 42,052 tonnes in February from 33,795 tonnes previously.
Oleochemical exports in February, however, were lower at 198,426 tonnes, a 14.39 per cent decrease from 231,791 tonnes in January.
MPOB reported that zero CPO imports remained in February, whereas total palm kernel oil imports jumped by 122.46 per cent to 12,699 tonnes from 5,708 tonnes in the preceding month.
