KUALA LUMPUR, April 15 (Bernama) -- Sirehemas Pharma Sdn Bhd (Sirehemas), in collaboration with Euglena Co Ltd (Euglena), aims to sell more than 236,000 units of its latest health products — Euglena Royal Algae Drink and Euglena Collagen Shot - across Malaysia, Indonesia and Singapore this year.

Sirehemas executive director Nik Juzailah Juhari said the products are currently sold exclusively through online platforms such as Shopee and TikTok, and plans to expand into pharmacies and convenience stores later on.

“We are targeting sales of 36,000 boxes in Malaysia, while sales in Singapore and Indonesia are projected to reach 100,000 boxes each this year. For now, we are focusing on exporting the products.

“These products are suitable for individuals aged 35 and above as a daily dietary supplement, and they are priced between RM180 and RM240,” she said at a press conference today.

She added that the products have also been successfully exported to Indonesia, Cambodia and Japan.

The launch also marks the official introduction of Euglena-based supplement -- a type of microalgae containing 59 essential nutrients known to boost immunity and support detoxification.

Also present were Malaysian Technology Development Corporation (MTDC) chief executive officer Mohammad Hazani Hassan; Malaysia External Trade Development Corporation (MATRADE) director of Special Programme and Digital Trade Sections, Asnor Vidya Nor Azmi; and Euglena co-founder and executive partner Dr Kengo Suzuki.

Meanwhile, Mohammad Hazani said MTDC is planning to promote local companies involved in the production of halal-certified food products.

“We see that not many local companies are venturing abroad. There’s a lot of food production, but much of it remains confined to the local market.

“With our support and facilities, we aim to help more local companies expand internationally,” he said.

In her speech during the event,  Asnor Vidya noted that the partnership between Sirehemas and Euglena exemplifies the synergy between Malaysian innovation and world-class Japanese biotechnology.

“At MATRADE, our mission is to elevate Malaysian products and companies to the global stage. The benefits from this Malaysia-Japan collaboration extend beyond local consumers, with strong potential for regional and international expansion.

“This is a timely move as the global health, wellness and beauty industry continues to grow rapidly, driven by increasing demand for natural and science-backed products,” she added.
