KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 26 (Bernama) -- The second day of WE2025: Future in Motion: Women in Trade, Investment and Leadership saw closer engagement between Malaysia and Kosovo, focusing on opportunities to foster economic cooperation between the two countries.
Former Republic of Kosovo president Atifete Jahjaga attended the Malaysia-Kosovo Business Dialogue: Expanding Trade Horizons and met with Malaysian business leaders, chambers of commerce, mid-tier companies and representatives from various sectors.
“These businesses and representatives are exploring opportunities in food manufacturing, health and wellness, renewable energy, and services,” said the organiser, Qube Solutions Sdn Bhd.
The dialogue also highlighted Kosovo’s strengthened investment climate, ongoing institutional reforms, and potential for inclusive, women-led cross-border partnerships.
Jahjaga also embarked on a Meet and Greet Student Dialogue, where she underscored that leadership must be rooted in service, empathy, and conviction -- values shaped by her own experience studying in secret classrooms during Kosovo’s period of oppression.
“Leadership must not be measured by titles, but by whether we open doors for others. Stay true to your principles, work diligently, lift others as you climb -- and remember that no barrier is undefeatable when you have courage and a clear purpose,” she said during the meeting and greet session.
Jahjaga is the first female and youngest Kosovo president (2011-2016). Before her presidency, she served as Deputy Director of the Kosovo Police, holding the rank of General Lieutenant Colonel, the highest rank achieved by a female officer in Southeastern Europe, and the first woman general in the force.
Meanwhile, side events which complemented the main conference were Peniagawati 45 years: Building Futures, Shaping Economies, the Strong Outside, Struggling Inside: The Reality of Men in Leadership session by MyMasterMan, the Power Women Summit by The MIND Academy, and the ASEAN Technology Cooperation and Development Summit by Intrinsic SEA.
These events collectively underscored the spirit of collaboration, innovation, and people-centred leadership.
Day Two of WE2025 exemplified the platform’s commitment to strengthening Malaysia’s position as a regional convening hub for women’s leadership, inclusive economic participation, and cross-border business collaboration.
WE2025: Future in Motion runs from Nov 25 to Nov 27 at the Malaysia International Trade and Exhibition Centre, Kuala Lumpur.
