IHH Healthcare Malaysia Backs MOH’s Vision For Affordable, Preventive Care

18/12/2025 01:36 PM

JOHOR BAHRU, Dec 18 (Bernama) -- IHH Healthcare Malaysia today reaffirmed its commitment to supporting the Ministry of Health’s (MOH) direction, pledging to align with efforts to deliver more affordable, preventive, and sustainable healthcare.

In a statement today, IHH Healthcare Malaysia said its outcomes initiative aligns directly with the MOH’s RESET agenda by linking cost and quality across common procedures like colonoscopy and knee replacement.

The group is also boosting preventive care by expanding its services, such as health screenings, lifestyle guidance, digital follow-ups, and long-term disease management, as well as building more convenient community-based care centres.

In partnership with the MOH, IHH Healthcare Malaysia has widened access to advanced cancer care by sponsoring radiotherapy and radiosurgery for government hospital patients at its specialised facilities.

Meanwhile, celebrating its 10th year, Gleneagles Hospital Johor has become one of IHH Healthcare Malaysia’s fastest-growing specialist hospitals and Johor’s leading referral centre for complex care.

The hospital plans to establish an ambulatory care centre for day-care and outpatient procedures such as cataract surgery and endoscopies, within the next five years.

IHH Malaysia chief executive officer Dr Kamal Amzan said the group is committed to lowering costs, preventing illness, and using its capabilities to assist the public healthcare system where needed.

“As a flagship hospital in Johor and the southern corridor, Gleneagles Hospital Johor offers a glimpse of what future-ready healthcare in Malaysia could look like – integrated, outcomes-focused, digitally enabled, and built around the needs of both local and regional patients. We aim to take what works here and apply it across our network to benefit more Malaysians,” he said.

The hospital’s deputy chief executive officer, Sipika Singh, said patients can follow a single, guided pathway from screening to treatment, ensuring a smoother and safer experience through consistent standards and coordinated care.

“As we keep raising capability and reliability, we hold ourselves to one standard, regardless of whether a patient comes from Johor or across the border: the same clinical governance, the same evidence-based pathways, and the same focus on safety and outcomes, every time,” she said.
