KOTA BHARU, March 21 (Bernama) -- The Kelantan Home Ministry Enforcement and Control Division (PK KDN) has identified companies operating printing businesses without valid printing machine licences.
Its director, Muhammad Hafizu Mohd Bokhori, said failure to obtain the licence could result in action under the Printing Presses and Publications Act 1984 [Act 301].
"According to subsection 3(4) of Act 301, any individual who possesses or operates a printing machine without a valid licence under subsection (3) or violates any of the stipulated conditions may face imprisonment of up to three years, a fine of up to RM20,000, or both.
"Therefore, we urge printing companies that have yet to acquire a printing machine licence to apply immediately through the BLESS 1.0 System to prevent enforcement action," he said in a statement today.
Muhammad Hafizu said that 86 companies in Kelantan hold a valid printing machine licence.
He added that PK KDN remains committed to ensuring public safety and order, including regulating and enforcing printing machine usage and publications in the country.
"This measure is crucial to prevent the spread of ideologies or movements that could threaten national security and social harmony," he said.
For inquiries on the printing machine licence application, the public can visit the official KDN website at www.moha.gov.my or contact 03-8886 8416 / 8886 3951 or email spl@moha.gov.my.
