PUTRAJAYA, Oct 1 (Bernama) -- The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) recorded a statement from Sabah Deputy Chief Minister Datuk Seri Dr Jeffrey Kitingan to assist in the investigation regarding the latest video revelation by businessman Albert Tei.
Its chief commissioner, Tan Sri Azam Baki said investigations into the video are still ongoing, and so far, more than 10 witness statements have been recorded.
“These included Datuk Jeffrey himself, who was called in with his officers. For Albert Tei, we will contact him to record a statement,” he said when met after the 58th MACC Anniversary Celebrations at Puspanita Puri here today.
"Other witnesses will also continue to be called, and I have been informed that a new video has been released by a portal, and it will be reviewed based on the available evidence."
On Sept 24th, the MACC confirmed that it had opened an investigation into the latest video.
Azam was reported to have said at the time that the investigation had been launched following the exposure of the video on an online portal.
He said the Sabah MACC had been instructed to extend the investigation based on new information and to call both individuals involved to complete the investigation.
