MIRI, Nov 3 (Bernama) -- Police have arrested 11 youths aged between 16 and 25 over an armed brawl at the Miri Waterfront early yesterday morning.
The arrests followed a one-minute video that went viral on social media showing the fight, which allegedly broke out after two men ‘shoulder-checked’ each other.
Miri police chief ACP Mohd Farhan Lee Abdullah said the fight, which occurred at around 2.05 am, left a local man injured.
“The victim received treatment at the General Hospital and is reported to be in stable condition,” he said in a statement today.
He said various types of weapons were also seized by police as case material, and investigations are being conducted under Section 324/148 of the Penal Code for using deadly weapons in a riot.
Anyone with further information on the incident can contact 085-433730 or Insp Zulaihka Mohd Anuar at 010-7975445.
