IPOH, March 22 (Bernama) -- A total of 105 people were randomly inspected by enforcement officers of the Perak Malaysian Immigration Department (JIM) who conducted an omnipresence operation around the Kinta district yesterday.

Its director, Datuk James Lee said the five-hour operation from 9 am involved nine enforcement officers focusing on identified hotspot areas.

"Throughout the operation, a total of 105 individuals were randomly checked to ensure compliance with the prevailing immigration laws.

"This inspection aims to detect the presence of undocumented foreign nationals and ensure that all parties comply with the established regulations," he said in a statement today.

Lee said the operation is part of the department's ongoing efforts to ensure public safety and order are always maintained, especially during the festive season.

He also said his department will continue to intensify such operations from time to time, especially in high-risk strategic locations, in line with JIM's commitment to enforcing the law firmly and with integrity.
