ISLAMIC RELIEF MALAYSIA APPOINTS SITI FADILAH AS NEW CEO

KUALA LUMPUR, Feb 17 (Bernama) -- Islamic Relief Malaysia has appointed Siti Fadilah Mohd Hood as the new chief executive officer, effective Feb 1.

Islamic Relief Malaysia Board of Trustees chairman Datuk Seri Syed Saleh Syed Abdul Rahman said that Siti Fadilah replaced Mohd Shukor Tahir, whose service ended on Jan  31.

He said Siti Fadilah was previously the organisation's deputy chief executive officer responsible for planning, implementing, and overseeing its operations.

"With extensive experience in the humanitarian and welfare sector for 18 years with Islamic Relief Malaysia, Siti Fadilah has demonstrated leadership in fundraising, marketing, communications, and programme development.

"With a degree in Biochemical Engineering-Biotechnology from the International Islamic University Malaysia, Siti Fadilah has proven her credibility in driving high-impact humanitarian initiatives through an outstanding track record," he said in a statement today.

Syed Saleh added that Siti Fadilah and her team had carried out several key campaigns, including seasonal programmes, emergency relief, and sustainable development locally and internationally, such as the Rezeki Ramadan, Palestine Appeal, Save Syria, MyYateem, Water System Waqf Fund, Local Emergency, and MySedekah initiatives.

He said she also participated in global working groups and humanitarian missions on behalf of the organisation in Somalia, Malawi, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Kosova, Turkiye, Jordan, and  Bangladesh.

"We trust that her expertise and commitment to the mission of Islamic Relief will drive the organisation's efforts in providing high-quality and sustainable humanitarian aid.

"The Board of Trustees, senior management, and all Islamic Relief Malaysia staff extend our heartfelt congratulations on this appointment," he said, expressing confidence that Siti Fadilah will continue strengthening the organisation to achieve its humanitarian vision and mission.
