KUALA LUMPUR, March 17 (Bernama) -- Muslims should cultivate a deeper connection with the Quran, reflect on its verses, and apply its teachings in daily life, said Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi.
In conjunction with Nuzul Quran tomorrow, Ahmad Zahid expressed hope that Muslims would continue to uphold the Quran as their guide in life and nurture its understanding and love in future generations.
“As we observe Nuzul Quran, let us draw closer to this holy book, reflect on its verses, and apply its teachings in our daily lives,” he said in a post on X today.
Meanwhile, Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Fadillah Yusof said the Quran was more than just a reading, as it served as a guide (hudan), a distinction between right and wrong (furqan), and a source of mercy and healing (syifa’) for those who appreciated it.
“Let us take a lesson from the Nuzul Quran event and make the Quran our guide in life.
“In this era of rapid information and global advancement, it is essential for us to return to the Quran as our ultimate foundation, which remains evergreen and relevant across time,” he said.
Nuzul Quran marks the revelation of the first verse of the Quran to Prophet Muhammad SAW when he was 41 years old, on Friday night, 17 Ramadan, in the Cave of Hira, Makkah.
Meanwhile, Communications Minister Datuk Fahmi Fadzil said the Quran was a remedy for the heart and a guide to life that always brought blessings.
“Let us intensify our recitation of the Quran, appreciate its teachings, and apply them in our daily lives so that we become closer to Allah SWT.
“May we be blessed with His guidance and showered with His mercy,” he said on X.
Home Minister Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail said the Quran was the living miracle of Prophet Muhammad, serving as a source of guidance, blessings, and strength for Muslims.
“Its revelation in the month of Ramadan is not just a historical moment, but a reminder for us to hold fast to its teachings.
“I call on Muslims to make the Quran a source of guidance in uniting hearts, reinforcing unity, and strengthening the ummah. May we deepen our understanding and apply its teachings in our daily lives. Salam Nuzul Al-Quran, may its verses always enlighten our hearts,” he said.
Defence Minister Datuk Seri Mohamed Khaled Nordin said the Quran should serve as a source of inspiration and guidance for leading a better and more meaningful life.
“Today, we commemorate the significant event of the Quran’s revelation as a guide for all mankind.
“Let us seize this opportunity to further deepen our understanding and appreciation of the teachings of this holy book,” he said on X.
Minister in the Prime Minister's Department (Federal Territories) Datuk Seri Dr Zaliha Mustafa said that the Quran was a heart-soothing, life-enriching scripture, with every verse bringing peace and every lesson guiding towards sincerity and virtue.
“On this blessed night, let us understand the meaning of the Divine Word of God, draw closer to the beauty of revelation, and appreciate its teachings in every step and action we take.
“May our hearts always be attached to this greatest mukjizat (miracle), becoming people who hold fast to the values of His guidance,” she said.
