KUALA LUMPUR, March 20 (Bernama) -- Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has extended financial aid to the family of Harsheeta Sai, a nine-year-old girl suffering from severe heart complications.
The contribution was delivered by the Prime Minister’s political secretary, Datuk Ahmad Farhan Fauzi, during a visit to the child’s home in Batu Caves, Selangor.
In a Facebook post today, Ahmad Farhan said Harsheeta, a student at Sekolah Jenis Kebangsaan Tamil (SJKT) Saraswathy in Sungai Buloh, is battling with oxygen levels between 70 and 75 per cent -- significantly lower than the normal range of 95 to 99 per cent.
"As a result, Harsheeta requires urgent treatment at Boston Children’s Hospital in the United States. However, the cost of treatment, amounting to US$350,000, poses a major challenge for her family," he said.
Ahmad Farhan expressed hope that the donation would encourage more people to contribute towards helping Harsheeta.
He also prayed for her to receive the necessary treatment and for her recovery.
