COMMUNITY BOUTIQUE OFFERS FREE HARI RAYA CLOTHING TO THOSE IN NEED

KANGAR, March 23 (Bernama) -- Underprivileged individuals can get free quality Hari Raya clothing through the Perlis Welfare Volunteers Community Boutique for their Aidilfitri needs.

Perlis Volunteer Action Community (PVAC) chairman Mohd Effendey Harun said the community boutique receives donations of new and pre-loved clothing in good condition from various parties who care about the welfare of those in need.

"This boutique offers a variety of clothing for children and adults, along with accessories that can be chosen freely. We ensure that all donated clothing is sorted by size, cleaned, and repackaged to maintain hygiene," he told reporters at the PVAC Boutique Open Day in Repoh here today.

Mohd Effendey added that they do not accept worn-out or damaged clothing to ensure that those in need receive wearable and decent attire.

He encouraged the public to donate new or pre-loved clothing to the community boutique, allowing more people to benefit. Donations can be arranged by contacting 019-4069955 for an appointment to drop off the items.

"The initiative of providing free clothing to those in need will continue throughout the year to support the 'asnaf' community in Perlis. We want to extend our gratitude to MAIPs (Perlis Islamic Religious and Malay Customs Council) for providing the premises for PVAC's operations," he said.

Meanwhile, a visitor to the community boutique, Siti Lailatul Aina Ahmad Sabri, 23, said the initiative enables underprivileged individuals to acquire quality Hari Raya clothing for the upcoming Aidilfitri celebration.

"This boutique offers a wide selection of clothing, including baby outfits, shoes, and other accessories. Those in need can come and choose suitable attire," she said.

Another visitor, Aida Shafiza Adenan, 37, said the community boutique's initiative to provide free clothing greatly helps ease the financial burden of families struggling to prepare for Hari Raya.
