KOTA KINABALU, March 26 (Bernama) – The official birthday of the Yang di-Pertua Negeri of Sabah has been set for March 30, as stated in the Sabah Government Gazette, said Deputy Chief Minister II Datuk Seri Dr Joachim Gunsalam.
Dr Joachim, who also chairs the Main Committee for the Official Birthday Celebration of the Sabah Governor, said the celebration will commence this Sunday (March 30), with seven official events scheduled until June 21.
"This will be the first official birthday celebration since the appointment of Tun Musa Aman as the 11th Sabah Yang di-Pertua Negeri on January 1," he said in a statement today.
Dr Joachim said the official events will include a Tahlil Recitation, Doa Selamat, and Solat Hajat; a Ceremonial Parade; the Prize Presentation Ceremony for the Parade Competition; a State Banquet; and Sabah Ethnic Day.
Additionally, the celebrations will also feature the Investiture Ceremony for State Honours, Titles, and Medals, as well as a Tea Reception with Special Needs Children and Orphans.
