DAM, SACRIFICIAL RITE RATE IN HOLY LAND SET AT RM875 PER KIBAS - TH

KUALA LUMPUR, March 28 (Bernama) -- The rate for dam (penalties imposed on pilgrims who violate certain haj rules) and the sacrificial rite in the Holy Land for the 1446H/2025M haj season has been set at RM875 per kibas (a sheep species), said Tabung Haji (TH) Group managing director and chief executive officer Datuk Syed Hamadah Syed Othman.

In a statement today, he said prospective haj pilgrims for this year could make dam payments via the THiJARI application or at TH branch office counters nationwide before departing for the Holy Land.

Syed Hamadah said participation in the sacrificial rite in the Holy Land was open to all TH depositors.

“TH continues to provide dam payment services for prospective haj pilgrims for this year’s haj season, with (payment services) available from today (March 28) until July 3, 2025.

“Meanwhile, all TH depositors can make payments for the sacrificial rite in the Holy Land from today (March 28) until May 31, 2025,” he said.

Syed Hamadah also said that this year, TH was collaborating with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia Project for Utilisation of Hady & Adahi (ADAHI), a supplier of sacrificial animals recognised by the Saudi Arabian Government, for dam and sacrificial rite matters.

Meanwhile, he said that in line with the decision of the TH Haj Advisory Committee, prospective pilgrims performing the tamattu’ and qiran haj were encouraged to pay dam at the current rate before arriving in the Holy Land, as it was more convenient.

Syed Hamadah advised the public to remain cautious of any suspicious offers for dam and sacrificial rite payments from travel agencies or any party seeking to take advantage.
