KUALA LUMPUR, March 30 (Bernama) -- Bank Muamalat Malaysia Bhd distributed 100 packs of iftar meals to the staff of the Malaysian National News Agency (Bernama) today as part of the bank's annual Ramadan programme.
Bank Muamalat Marketing and Corporate Communications acting head Mohd Nazrul Hafizi said the initiative was part of the bank's ongoing efforts to show its appreciation for media personnel and frontliners.
"In addition to distributing iftar meals, Bank Muamalat also actively goes to various areas during Ramadan to give a treat to orphans and provide donations and assistance.
"During Ramadan, Bank Muamalat has visited six orphanages in Kuala Lumpur as well as four other states, namely Pahang, Penang, Sabah and Johor, to contribute Raya clothing, duit raya and necessities,” he said during the iftar meal distribution programme at Wisma Bernama here today.
He added that for this year, Bank Muamalat has allocated over RM500,000 for its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative for the benefit of about 13,000 recipients.
He also pointed out that Bank Muamalat and Bernama had forged close cooperation for a long time.
"We wish all Bernama staff Selamat Hari Raya and hope that this relationship will continue to be strong,” he said.
