GRAB M'SIA STIRS UP FESTIVE SPIRIT WITH 5,500 BOWLS OF BUBUR LAMBUK ACROSS 17 CITIES

KUALA LUMPUR, April 4 (Bernama) -- As the final days of Ramadan gave way to the joyful arrival of Aidilfitri, Grab Malaysia marked the occasion with a gesture steeped in tradition and community -- the distribution of over 5,500 bowls of bubur lambuk, a beloved spiced porridge served to break fast across 17 cities nationwide.

Prepared and handed out with care by Grab’s own staff alongside its network of drivers and delivery-partners, the initiative brought warmth and nourishment to local communities in cities including the Klang Valley, Johor Bahru, Negeri Sembilan, Batu Pahat, Kluang, Muar, Melaka, Sungai Petani, Alor Setar, Kuching, Bintulu, Miri, Sibu, Kota Kinabalu, Kuantan, Kota Bharu and Kuala Terengganu.

In the Klang Valley, the spirit of giving ran deeper. Grab, in collaboration with GXBank, hosted a special iftar gathering for its partners, their families and children from Yayasan Islam Darul Ehsan (YIDE).

Alongside the hearty porridge, guests were treated to a shared meal that symbolised the togetherness Ramadan strives to nurture.

The generosity didn’t end with food. In partnership with the Lembaga Zakat Selangor (LZS), children from YIDE were gifted new Hari Raya clothes, a small luxury that carries great meaning during the festive season.

To ease the burden of rising costs, families also received daily essentials from Jaya Grocer, a gesture aimed at making the transition into the Syawal celebrations a little easier.

Grab Malaysia’s director of operations and mobility Rashid Shukor said the move was not just about the meals, but rather acknowledging those whom the company worked with.

“It’s about recognising the heart of our community, our driver and delivery-partners, and ensuring they too, can celebrate meaningfully with their loved ones,” he said.

As a homegrown brand, Rashid said Grab deeply appreciate the effort their partners put in every day.

“During Ramadan and Aidilfitri, we want to be part of their story… to celebrate them, to support them and to give back in ways that matter,” he added.

The campaign, themed ‘Kindness in Every Order’, is part of the company’s broader #GrabBersamaMalaysia movement, designed to celebrate not just the festivities, but the values of unity, gratitude and generosity.
