MADINAH, April 28 (Bernama) -- Malaysian Haj pilgrims are advised to comply with the baggage weight limits set by airlines before departing for the Holy Land to avoid any inconvenience during the check-in process at the airport.

Tabung Haji (TH) Madinah Terminal Manager Muhammad Fairus Ahmad Aripin said each pilgrim is only allowed to bring baggage according to the specified guidelines, including the maximum weight, and must not carry dangerous or prohibited items.

"Particularly items such as power banks, pilgrims are reminded not to place them in checked-in luggage. They are also reminded not to bring medicines containing prohibited substances or dangerous drugs without medical certification, as this could lead to legal action by the Saudi Arabian authorities," he told reporters here.

He said compliance with these regulations is crucial to ensure flight safety and to avoid delays or issues during check-in.

Additionally, Muhammad Fairus reminded pilgrims to ensure that all baggage brought to the Holy Land is properly tagged with personal information to prevent problems such as loss or confusion with other pilgrims' bags.

In preparation for the arrival of the first batch of Malaysian pilgrims, expected at 7.50 am local time tomorrow at the Prince Mohammad bin Abdulaziz International Airport in Madinah, a total of 14 staff members from the Madinah Terminal Unit team have been placed on standby.

For the 1446H/2025 Haj season, a total of 100 chartered flights will be used to transport 31,600 pilgrims, involving AMAL by Malaysia Airlines Bhd and Saudia Airlines.
