PERNAS EXPANDS JEJAK CEMERLANG 2025 PROG TO RURAL SCHOOLS

31/10/2025 03:51 PM

KUANTAN, Oct 31 (Bernama) -- Perbadanan Nasional Berhad (Pernas) is empowering school students through its corporate social responsibility (CSR) programme Jejak Cemerlang 2025, which was held for the first time at a rural school in Temerloh.

The programme involved three schools in the district, namely Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan (SMK) Datuk Bahaman, SMK Lanchang and SMK Bukit Damar.

Pernas chief executive officer Datuk Nor Azam M. Taib said the programme was a continuation of the success of its organisation with SMK Seri Pantai, Kuala Lumpur since 2015, which became a foster school under the Pernas CSR initiative.

He said Jejak Cemerlang was an ongoing effort to help students, especially Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) candidates, to be more prepared and confident in facing this important examination.

"The most valuable investment is not in buildings or property, but in knowledge and people. When a student succeeds, not only their lives change, but also their families, communities and the country benefit," he said.

He said this through a media statement in conjunction with the opening of the programme at Dewan Panglima Perang Weh, SMK Datuk Bahaman in Lanchang, Temerloh yesterday.

At the event, there was also a handover of stationery donations to underprivileged students from the three schools involved as part of efforts to help them make final preparations for the SPM examinations.

The Jejak Cemerlang programme also focuses on academic guidance sessions, question answering techniques and sharing motivation to help students achieve better results.

Apart from this programme, Pernas also implements various other CSR initiatives such as the Back to School Programme and the donation of free glasses to help students from low-income families make better preparations for their schooling sessions.

Nor Azam also hopes that all the schools concerned can show the same improvement as achieved by SMK Seri Pantai.

"Hopefully the success of these students is proof that every effort and support can change the future from potential to achievement, from enthusiasm to real success," he said.

Previously, the Jejak Cemerlang 2025 Programme was also held with SMK Seri Pantai on Oct 7 at the Tun Rahah Auditorium, Menara Pernas, Kuala Lumpur and the event in Temerloh continues by focusing on rural students so that they can receive the same opportunities and guidance.
