MOHD SAKERI’S APPOINTMENT TO BOOST PUTRAJAYA’S DEVELOPMENT, SAYS DR ZALIHA

PUTRAJAYA, Nov 15 (Bernama) -- The appointment of Datuk Mohd Sakeri Abdul Kadir as the new Putrajaya Corporation (PPj) president is believed to bring added value in steering Putrajaya’s development in line with the CHASE City vision, said Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department (Federal Territories) Datuk Seri Dr Zaliha Mustafa.

She said Mohd Sakeri’s appointment is in line with Paragraph 5(1)(a) of the Putrajaya Corporation Act 1995 (Act 536), which came into effect today.

“Insya-Allah, with this appointment, he will lead PPj efficiently, with integrity and a clear vision, thereby strengthening the urban development agenda in line with the CHASE City vision.

“This includes efforts to enhance the quality of urban maintenance, the digitalisation of municipal services, the strengthening of green mobility initiatives, inclusive community development and Putrajaya’s long-term planning centred on MADANI values, in line with the Putrajaya Structure Plan 2050 (RSP50),” Dr Zaliha said in a statement.

She also expressed her appreciation to Datuk Fadlun Mak Ujud for his leadership of PPj since 2022, particularly in strengthening smart city initiatives, green management, the provision of community facilities and Putrajaya’s reputation as a modern administrative city.

Yesterday, Chief Secretary to the Government Tan Sri Shamsul Azri Abu Bakar announced the appointment of Mohd Sakeri as the new PPj president for a two-year term, effective today until Nov 14, 2027.

Mohd Sakeri, 56, previously served as the Works Ministry deputy secretary-general (Policy and Development).

He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Mathematical Economics from Temple University, United States, and a Master of Economics from Universiti Putra Malaysia.
