KPDN LAUNCHES EZ-TTPM APP TO STREAMLINE CONSUMER CLAIMS PROCESS

22/11/2025 04:44 PM

SHAH ALAM, Nov 22 (Bernama) -- The Ministry of Domestic Trade and Cost of Living (KPDN) officially launched the ez-TTPM application for the Malaysian Consumer Claims Tribunal (TTPM) ) today, aiming to enhance access to justice and simplify the consumer claims process.

Minister Datuk Armizan Mohd Ali said the application, developed by TTPM, is designed to make filing compensation claims easier through efficient, user-friendly digital technology.

"In the initial phase, the public can file claims, upload supporting documents, and track the status of their cases through the TTPM portal, without needing to visit the TTPM office in person," he told reporters after launching the 2025 KPDN Central Zone Carnival Tour and the Buy Malaysian Goods (KBBM) Campaign at Dataran Kemerdekaan Shah Alam today.

"For the second phase, KPDN has developed the ez-TTPM app, which can be downloaded on smartphones or other smart devices," he added.

Armizan pointed out that this innovation would reduce costs, cut waiting times, and make access to justice easier for consumers, particularly those in rural areas.

From Jan 1 to Nov 14, 2025, a total of 9,203 claims amounting to RM77.2 million were filed through various complaint channels under TTPM. Of these, 6,881 cases have been successfully resolved.

"KPDN remains committed to providing fast, fair, and customer-friendly services in line with the TTPM Client Charter. Every claim will be registered on the same day it is filed, and hearings and case resolutions will take place within 60 days of the first hearing," he said.

In another development, Armizan announced the distribution trade sector, including wholesale and retail, recorded RM1.766 trillion in sales for 2024, marking a 5.5 per cent increase compared to RM1.673 trillion in 2023, as per the latest report from the Department of Statistics Malaysia (DOSM).

"According to the most recent DOSM report, as of Sept 2025, wholesale and retail trade sales totalled RM1.381 trillion, compared to RM1.314 trillion during the same period in 2024," he added.

Armizan also shared that the KPDN Central Zone Carnival and KBBM which began yesterday, is the final event after similar carnivals in Johor (Southern Zone), Kedah (Northern Zone), Pahang (Eastern Zone), and Sabah and Sarawak.

The three-day carnival, which concludes tomorrow, features the RAHMAH MADANI Sales Programme (PJRM), including the Back to School PJRM initiative, offering a variety of discounted goods, as well as booths showcasing local products.

Other attractions include entertainment performances and informative exhibitions. Strategic partners such as Al-Ikhsan, Shell, Petronas, TikTok, ASTRO, and various government agencies are also involved.

"KPDN hopes that through this carnival, exhibitors and visitors will take full advantage of this platform to expand business networks, promote their brands, and explore the opportunities available.

“This event also demonstrates that Malaysia has a progressive, advanced, and sustainable domestic economic environment," he said.
