KUALA LUMPUR, Dec 11 (Bernama) -- Sultan of Perak Sultan Nazrin Shah today graced the 35th Sultan Azlan Shah Law Lectures 2025, here.
His Royal Highness was accompanied by the Raja Permaisuri of Perak, Tuanku Zara Salim.
Among others present were Communications Minister Datuk Fahmi Fadzil, several Cabinet ministers and foreign ambassadors to Malaysia, alongside members of the judiciary, legal practitioners, academics and guests.
Sultan Nazrin, who is also chairman of the Sultan Azlan Shah Foundation, witnessed this year’s lecture delivered by Christopher Greenwood, the Master of Magdalene College, Cambridge and the United Kingdom’s former Judge of the International Court of Justice.
Earlier, in his address, Christopher spoke on Can International Law Make a Difference in Time of War, touching on the relevance, limits and responsibilities of international law in ongoing conflict situations.
For the first time in the history of the series, the lecture was livestreamed and made available at lawlecture.sultanazlanshah.com.
The lecture was co-organised by the Sultan Azlan Shah Foundation and the University of Malaya (UM).
The lecture series, established to honour Sultan Azlan Shah’s commitment to the rule of law and constitutional governance, forms Malaysia’s premier law lecture series.
Since 1986, it has featured distinguished judges, legal scholars and senior jurists from across the common law world.
