MACC SEEKS PARTNERSHIP WITH PRIVATE SECTOR, GLCS AND NGOS TO BOOST ANTI-CORRUPTION EFFORTS

14/12/2025 12:43 PM

SEREMBAN, Dec 14 (Bernama) -- The private sector, government-linked companies (GLCs) and non-governmental organisations (NGOs) have been urged to serve as collaborative partners of the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) to strengthen anti-corruption efforts across the country.

Negeri Sembilan MACC director Awgkok Ahmad Taufik Putra Awg Ismail said efforts to combat corruption cannot be shouldered by the MACC alone, but require the support of various stakeholders.

“Private companies and GLCs can support anti-corruption efforts, including by organising anti-corruption programmes. The fight against corruption is a shared responsibility of all citizens, regardless of age, role or background,” he said when launching the state-level International Anti-Corruption Day (IACD) 2025 celebration here yesterday.

The event was jointly organised by the Negeri Sembilan MACC, Pertubuhan IKRAM Malaysia and Rasuah Busters.

The IACD celebration, which drew nearly 200 participants comprising NGO representatives, students and members of the public, aimed to encourage wider participation in supporting the national agenda to combat corruption.

Meanwhile, Pertubuhan IKRAM Malaysia president Badlishah Sham Baharin said the organisation is ready to support the MACC as part of a collective effort to cultivate a society with high integrity.
