LOTUS’S CHENG NOW LARGER AND MORE COMFORTABLE, OFFERS 11 NEW OUTLETS

MELAKA, Dec 18 (Bernama) -- Lotus’s Cheng has unveiled a refreshed and expanded space designed to offer a more comfortable shopping environment, reinforcing its role not only as a daily retail destination but also as a neighbourhood hub catering to the lifestyle needs of the local community.

Lotus’s Malaysia chief financial officer and head of property development Yvonne Yong said the refurbishment of the ground floor area, previously used as a parking space, was undertaken to enhance customer comfort while providing a wider range of offerings, particularly in the food and beverage (F&B) segment.

“This expansion not only creates a more comfortable environment for shoppers but also enriches their overall experience by offering a broader selection of food outlets featuring menus and products by local operators,” she said at a media preview of the new Lotus’s Cheng space here.

Yong said the refurbishment is among the largest and first of its kind within the Lotus’s Malaysia network, involving the addition of 4,311 square metres of new space and bringing the shopping centre’s total floor area to 7,616 square metres.

With the expansion, 11 new retail lots housing 12 tenants are now in operation, increasing the total number of retail lots to 57, about 30 per cent of which are occupied by F&B outlets.

“The main focus of this expansion is to offer a wider variety of food options, particularly local brands, enabling nearby residents to enjoy dining and shopping in a comfortable, one-stop location,” she said.

Among the highlights in the new space are Harum Kopi, a local brand making its debut in a shopping mall, along with Mee Hiris Express, Bonda Laksa, Mixue, Big Apple Donuts and My Mom’s Chicken Rice.

Lifestyle and electronics outlets now operating include Sin Siang Stationery, Umairose Boutique and Xiaomi.

Yong said the upgrade is expected to support the growth of local brands while adding value to the surrounding community by providing a more comfortable, family-friendly space for shopping, dining and leisure.
