OPS PENGARAH: PAHANG JPJ SEIZES THREE VEHICLES, ISSUES 215 NOTICES

KUANTAN, Dec 22 (Bernama) -- The Pahang Road Transport Department (JPJ) inspected a total of 850 vehicles and issued 215 notices for various offences against drivers and vehicle owners during Ops Pengarah, which was conducted at the Bentong toll plaza on Dec 18.

Its director, Syed Ahmad Khirulanwar Alyahya Syed Abdul Rahman said that out of this total, 115 JPJ (P) 22 summonses were issued, including three private vehicles being seized for various offences, some involving foreign drivers.

"This continuous enforcement is carried out to ensure the road traffic regulations compliance rate remains at the highest level, in addition to demonstrating JPJ's presence at all locations to increase road users' awareness and safety," he said in a statement today.

In the same statement, he said that his department also conducted Ops Khas Rentas Sempadan Zon Timur 2025 with the Terengganu and Kelantan JPJ at three locations, namely the Kuantan-Kemaman border, Lipis-Gua Musang and Cameron Highlands-Lojing, from Dec 15 to 17.

A total of 132 vehicles were inspected and action was taken against 29 of them. A total of 78 JPJ (P) 22 summons notices for various offences were issued, including eight cases of overloading. One case involved a lorry being seized because it was driven by a foreign national without a driver's licence," he also said.

Syed Ahmad Khirulanwar Alyahya added that the operation was aimed at ensuring compliance with road traffic laws involving private and commercial vehicles, especially drivers operating across the border into Pahang.
