The awards were presented by Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Saarani Mohamad. The event was also attended by Perak Media Practitioners Association chairman Sayed Hesham Idris.

In his speech, Saarani said the night served as a platform for the state government to express its appreciation through the Perak Sejahtera Media Awards 2025.

“I was informed that while more than 90 entries were received last year, the number increased to over 120 entries this year involving nine contested categories, with very intense judging.

“To me, the growing number of entries shows that our media friends are increasingly understanding the agenda being developed by the state government,” he said.

He added that this not only reflects the importance of ensuring that the relationship between the state government and media practitioners is not left to chance or treated as temporary.

The nine categories contested were the Perak Photo Essay Award, Best Photo, Best TV Video, Best Digital Video, Best News (Malay Language) Category: Print Media, Best News (Non-Malay Language) Category: Print Media, Best Digital News (Malay Language), Best Digital News (Non-Malay Language), and Best Print and Digital Feature Article Award.
