SULTAN NAZRIN GRACES CLOSING OF PERAK QURAN RECITATION AND MEMORISATION COMPETITION

IPOH, Jan 29 (Bernama) -- The Sultan of Perak, Sultan Nazrin Shah, graced the Closing Ceremony and Prize Presentation of the Perak Darul Ridzuan State-level Quran Recitation and Memorisation Competition 1447H/2026M, held at the Casuarina Convention Centre, Meru near here tonight.

Also in attendance was the Raja Muda of Perak, Raja Jaafar Raja Muda Musa.

Present as well were Perak Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Saarani Mohamad, Perak Islamic Religious and Malay Customs Council (MAIPk) president Tan Sri Mohd Annuar Zaini, Perak Islamic Religious Department (JAIPk) director Datuk Harith Fadzilah Abdul Halim, and Perak deputy mufti Datuk Zamri Hashim.

Sultan Nazrin also presented prizes to all the winners.

Cik Hasnul Taqiyuddin Cik Sazali emerged champion ‘qari’ (male reciter) this year, while Puteri Kalimatul Azzua Hamid clinched the ‘qariah’ (female reciter) title, with each receiving RM12,000 in cash, an umrah package worth RM10,000, and a plaque.

The qari runner-up title was won by Mohd Kamaruzaman Daud, with Mohamad Sahran Termizi placing third, while the qariah runner-up was Nurul Syafiqah Nardi and Siti Syahirah Isa finished third.

The runner-up and third-place winners each received RM9,000 and RM7,000 in cash, respectively, along with plaques.

For memorisation, Muhammad Ammar Daniel Ahmad Sukry emerged champion in the 1–30 juzuk category with tafsir for men, while the women’s title was once again won by Siti Sarah Muhammad Hanif, with each receiving RM12,000 in cash, an umrah package worth RM10,000, and a plaque.

All champions of their respective categories will automatically represent Perak at the National-level Quran Recitation and Memorisation Competition, scheduled to be held from April 13 to 18, at the Terengganu State Sports Complex Indoor Stadium.
