SCHEDULED WATER SUPPLY IN KLUANG, PONTIAN SUSPENDED FOR 48 HOURS

19/02/2026 08:44 AM

JOHOR BAHRU, 19 Feb (Bernama) -- Scheduled Water Supply (BAB)  in the Kluang and Pontian districts has been suspended for 48 hours beginning midnight last night.

Johor water operator Ranhill SAJ announced that the suspension follows encouraging improvements in dam levels supplying raw water to several treatment plants in the two districts.

“The suspension of the Scheduled Water Supply took effect at midnight.

“Consumers in Kluang and Pontian who have been affected by the implementation of the BAB since Feb 7 will receive water supply in stages throughout the suspension period,” the operator said in a statement posted on Facebook late last night.

According to the statement, if raw water levels remain stable after 48 hours, the implementation of BAB will be discontinued entirely.

Meanwhile, the authorities also advised consumers to continue to be prudent in their water use and store sufficient supplies as a precautionary measure.

The BAB began to be implemented on Feb 7, with water supply being distributed for 36 hours, followed by the next 36 hours without water supply.
