UPGRADED COMMUNITY HALL BENEFITS RESIDENTS OF KAMPUNG BUKIT TEMENSU, KAMPUNG TEBAT KERING

13/03/2026 10:19 PM

KUALA PILAH, March 13 (Bernama) -- More than 300 residents of Kampung Bukit Temensu/Kampung Tebat Kering here now have a more comfortable community hall after the facility was upgraded under the Communications Ministry’s Kampung Angkat MADANI 2025 project, with an allocation of RM285,000.

The upgraded community hall, completed in December last year, was handed over to residents today by Communications Ministry secretary-general Datuk Abdul Halim Hamzah.

Also present were Pilah state assemblyman Datuk Noorzunita Begum Mohd Ibrahim, Kuala Pilah district officer and Kuala Pilah District Council president Nawal Mohamed Amin, and Communications Ministry senior undersecretary (Management) Datuk Aminurrahim Mohamed.

In a statement issued in conjunction with the ceremony, the Communications Ministry said the 10-week project, which began in October, provides residents with a more comfortable and conducive space for community activities.

“The works included repairing the roof and ceiling, installing new flooring, repainting the building, and installing air-conditioning, fans and brighter lighting to make the hall more comfortable, clean and modern for residents’ use.

“The toilet and pantry were completely renovated with new tiles and upgraded fittings,” the statement said today.

It also said that safety was improved with a perimeter fence and a larger covered veranda to facilitate community events.

The Kampung Angkat MADANI initiative, launched under the 2024 Budget, provides basic facilities in selected rural areas to benefit communities and narrow the urban-rural development gap.

The Communications Ministry also highlighted the importance of community infrastructure as a hub for social integration and gatherings, strengthening well-being and bonds among residents.

The handover featured a community iftar, strengthening ties between ministry leaders and residents.

Meanwhile, Village Development and Security Committee chairman Raja Azhar Raja Aziz, 54, described the village’s selection as an adopted village by the Communications Ministry as a gift for residents.

“Alhamdulillah, with the hall’s upgrade, we can now hold community activities much more comfortably than before,” he said.
