24/03/2026 01:17 PM

KUALA LUMPUR, March 24 (BERNAMA) -- Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi today expressed his deep appreciation to the Malaysian Civil Defence Force (APM), describing its personnel as heroes who are always ready to serve without expecting praise.

In conjunction with its 74th anniversary today, he said APM has proven its excellence as a force that remains on standby whenever the people need assistance, whether in disaster situations, emergencies, or other unexpected crises.

“Not all heroes stand in front of the camera. Some move quietly, appear when needed, and leave without seeking attention,” he said in a Facebook post in conjunction with the 74th Civil Defence anniversary celebration.

Ahmad Zahid, who is also the Rural and Regional Development Minister, said he has personally witnessed the dedication of APM personnel on the ground, helping without much talk and carrying out their responsibilities with full discipline.

He also conveyed his appreciation to all APM personnel for their service and contributions to the people and the nation.

“I would like to thank all APM personnel for their service to the people and the country. Happy 74th Civil Defence anniversary. Continue serving and contributing to our beloved nation,” he said
