KOTA KINABALU, March 14 (Bernama) -- The number of flood evacuees in Beaufort continues to decline, with 407 individuals from 129 families seeking shelter as of 8 am today, down from 449 individuals from 144 families recorded at 8 last night.
The Sabah Disaster Management Committee (JPBN) Secretariat, in a statement, said that only four temporary relief centres remain operational, while 10 villages in the district are still affected by the disaster.
“The flood situation is gradually improving, as the number of evacuees in Beaufort continues to drop,” it said.
