MOHD NA'IM VISITS AR-RIQAB COMMUNITY, PROVIDES AID TO ASNAF GROUP

KUALA LUMPUR, March 14 (Bernama) -- Minister in the Prime Minister's Department (Religious Affairs) Datuk Dr Mohd Na’im Mokhtar today visited the Ar-Riqab community (those eligible to receive tithe) under the Ziarah Ar-Riqab Programme at Pertubuhan Kebajikan Ar-Riqab Kuala Lumpur (Ar-Riqab KL).

The Office of the Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department (Religious Affairs) said in a statement that the programme aimed to strengthen the ties of kinship and provide assistance to the asnaf group and those in need.

The statement added that Mohd Na’im, in his speech, said the programme is not just a welfare initiative but also a manifestation of the government's social responsibility and concern for the well-being of individuals.

"This effort is in line with Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim's aspiration for all government agencies to play an active role in helping those in need.

"The assistance provided is not just in the form of material support but also spiritual guidance and motivation so that they can return to building a better life,” he said.

Mohd Na’im also urged all parties to work together to support the welfare of those in need, in line with the values ​​of love and kindness in Islam because he believes that every individual has the potential to change and build a brighter future.

The programme was organised by the Federal Territory Islamic Religious Department (JAWI), in collaboration with the Federal Territories Islamic Religious Council (MAIWP), Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL), the Dang Wangi Police Headquarters and non-governmental organisations (NGOs).
