225 RAMADAN BAZAAR VENDORS IN MELAKA OFFER RAHMAH MENU MEALS

MELAKA, March 14 -- A total of 225 traders in the state have voluntarily registered to offer Rahmah Menu meals as part of this year's Rahmah Ramadan Bazaar initiative.

Traders participating in the initiative offer Iftar meals priced at RM5 or below.

State Entrepreneur Development, Cooperatives, and Consumer Affairs Committee chairman, Allex Seah Shoo Chin, said the traders are located at Taman Seri Duyong, Jasin Bestari and Pekan Alor Gajah. 

"The locations are selected based on high consumer traffic and economic activity. This initiative aims to ease the cost of living by providing affordable meal options for breaking fast," he told reporters in Duyong today after launching the initiative.

Also present were Duyong assemblyman Datuk Mohd Noor Helmy Abd Halem and Ministry of Domestic Trade and Cost of Living (KPDN) state chief enforcement officer Rohaimi Mohamed Zawawi.

Allex said there is increased participation this year, with a variety of dishes available, such as tomato rice, mixed rice, murtabak, chicken rice and fried noodles.  

He added that so far, the Melaka KPDN has not received any complaints from consumers regarding food prices at the bazaars. In contrast, six complaints were recorded last year.

Meanwhile, the Retail Sector Digitalisation Initiative (ReDI) has been expanded to promote cashless transactions.

"ReDI is being implemented at all Rahmah Ramadan Bazaar locations in Melaka through the distribution of e-wallet vouchers worth RM20 per person, with 18,000 vouchers available from March 11 to 15," he said.
