In a Facebook post, Ahmad Zahid said the win marked the duo’s second title this year.

“Let us continue to stand firmly behind our sports heroes and heroines, offering prayers and unwavering support so that more victories can be achieved for Malaysia! Malaysia Juara, Malaysiaku Boleh!” he added.

Pearly-Thinaah were crowned champions after defeating Japan's Rin Iwanaga-Kie Nakanishi 21-7, 21-9 in the finals.
