KUALA LUMPUR, Dec 18 (Bernama) -- Binasat Communication Bhd’s subsidiary, Binasat Digital Sdn Bhd, has secured a RM52.46 million contract from the Lembaga Dius Api (LDA) to provide managed and secure internet services and software.
LDA is an agency under the Marine Department Malaysia, responsible for managing and ensuring the safety of navigational aids such as lighthouses, beacons and buoys, to safeguard vessel navigation in Malaysian waters.
The contract entails the provision of managed and secure internet service for LDA’s headquarters, collection offices, and navigation system, Binasat said in a filing with Bursa Malaysia today.
“The contract shall commence on Jan 2, 2026 and shall be completed on Jan 1, 2031, being 60 months from the commencement date,” it said.
Binasat added that the contract will not have any material effect on the net assets and gearing of the company and its subsidiaries for the financial year ending Dec 31, 2026, and is expected to contribute positively to the group’s earnings over the duration of the contract.
