MOHD SHUHAILY’S STATEMENT MISREPORTED - AKPS

20/12/2025 10:12 PM

PUTRAJAYA, Dec 20 (Bernama) -- The Malaysian Border Control and Protection Agency (AKPS) said a newspaper report on Director-General Datuk Seri Mohd Shuhaily Mohd Zain’s remarks on dismissing public servants lacking integrity was inaccurate and misleading.

AKPS said the report stemmed from a special interview with Mohd Shuhaily at its headquarters on Tuesday and Wednesday.

It said the report claimed that dismissing corrupt public servants is difficult because it falls under the Public Service Department’s (PSD) sole authority, but this misrepresented Mohd Shuhaily’s actual statement.

“AKPS has contacted the newspaper’s management to publish a correction, which appeared today,” read the statement.

The agency also apologised for the confusion caused by the reporting error.
