PUTRAJAYA, Dec 20 (Bernama) -- More than 100 congregants attended the funeral prayers for the late Halimah Yaacob, the mother of former minister in the Prime Minister’s Department (Federal Territories) Datuk Seri Dr Zaliha Mustafa, who passed away tonight.
The funeral prayers at Masjid Mahmoodiah, Precinct 18 here were led by Halimah’s son, Dr Mohd Shafie Mustafa.
Besides Dr Zaliha and her father, Mustafa Mohd Salleh, 91, those present at the prayers included Kampong Bharu Development Corporation (PKB) chief executive officer Dr Khairul Nizam Othman, as well as family members.
Halimah’s remains were then taken back to her hometown in Johor, and expected be laid to rest at the Ar-Raudha Cemetery in Saleng, Kulai at about 8 am tomorrow.
She passed away at the age of 77 at Dr Zaliha’s residence here due to multiple illnesses, including diabetes and high blood pressure.
