BEIJING, Dec 30 (Bernama-Sputnik/RIA Novosti) -- China-US relations saw ups and downs in 2025 but have largely stabilised, Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi said on Tuesday, reported Sputnik/RIA Novosti.
"Over the past year, relations between China and the United States have experienced ups and downs, but have generally achieved stability," Wang said at a conference on the international situation and Chinese diplomacy in 2025.
This is in line with the common interests of the peoples of both countries, as well as the expectations of the international community, the foreign minister added.
"We will shape a new paradigm of positive interaction between China and the United States based on the principles of mutual respect, peaceful coexistence, and mutually beneficial cooperation, and promote the healthy, stable, and sustainable development of China-US relations on the basis of resolutely safeguarding national sovereignty, security, and development interests," he said.
Earlier in the day, US President Donald Trump said that he has "great relationship" with Chinese President Xi Jinping, commenting on China's military exercises around Taiwan, and added that those actions were not of concern.
