CAMBODIA 

1. WIDENING TRADE TIES WITH US -- AGENCE KAMPUCHEA PRESSE 

Cambodia and the United States (US) are exploring ways to deepen their bilateral partnership. Both governments exchanged views on expanding cooperation in trade and economic affairs, security and defence, and addressing transnational crime.

 

2. INDONESIAN SUPPORT TO CURB TRANSNATIONAL CRIMES -- AGENCE KAMPUCHEA PRESS 

Cambodia and Indonesia will cooperate to halt cross-border criminal networks, targeting cyber-scams, human trafficking and narcotics distribution. International cooperation is vital in tackling complex digital fraud.

Indonesia is preparing a sweeping overhaul of state and regional enterprises to tighten governance, shore up public finances and refocus companies on core public interests, a senior official said, underscoring President Prabowo Subianto’s push to clean up mismanagement.

 

2. INDONESIA SAYS GAZA BOARD ROLE NOT BACKING ISRAEL -- ANTARA

Indonesia’s Foreign Ministry said Thursday that joining the US-initiated Board of Peace for Gaza does not signal recognition of Israel or support for its actions, reaffirming Jakarta’s longstanding backing of Palestinian independence.

 

MYANMAR

1. MYITSONE POWER PROJECT TO BE GAME CHANGER -- THE GLOBAL NEW LIGHT OF MYANMAR 

The proposed Ayeyarwady Myitsone-Upstream Hydropower Project, once completed, will be able to meet the country’s electricity demand. Besides, the project could create jobs for locals and contribute to socioeconomic development.

 

2. CREATING FOOTWEAR PRODUCTION HUB -- THE GLOBAL NEW LIGHT OF MYANMAR 

A footwear industrial district will be established in Twantay Township in Yangon to centralise manufacturing to boost the industry. There are currently about 40,000 shoe entrepreneurs, including home-based sole traders.
