KUALA LUMPUR, Feb 21 (Bernama) -- Terengganu lived up to expectations by collecting three points after defeating Melaka FC 2-1 in the 2025/2026 Super League action at Hang Jebat Stadium, Melaka, tonight.

The result sees the Sang Penyu squad remain in fifth place with 28 points, while the home team sits one spot from the bottom with 10 points.

In the just concluded match, the visitors opened the scoring in the 35th minute through Muhammad Akhyar Rashid, who easily tapped in a pass from Gervane Kastaneer after a series of relentless attacks on the home side's defence.

Continuing into the second half, the home team attempted a comeback and managed to equalise through a long-range shot by Dino Kalesic in the 73rd minute.

However, the home side's joy was short-lived when an unmarked Muhamad Baqiuddin Shamsudin easily beat Melaka goalkeeper Samuel Somerville in the 77th minute, and that score remained until the final whistle.

In another action at Tuanku Abdul Rahman Stadium in Paroi, Negeri Sembilan FC (NSFC) failed to capitalise on their home-ground advantage after losing 1-2 to Imigresen FC.

The first half saw both teams attacking and creating shots on target before Vinicius Milani accidentally turned the ball into his own net while trying to parry a cross from Luqman Hakim Shamsudin, putting NSFC ahead in the ninth minute.

Situations turned difficult for the "Skuad Jang Hobin" as they were forced to play with 10 men after Yuichi Hirano was shown a red card for a foul in the 22nd minute, before the visiting team equalised through a goal by Eduardo Jose Sosa Vegas in the 40th minute.

Entering the second half, NSFC continued to increase their match intensity, but Imigresen netted a second goal through Eduardo Sosa in the 84th minute, ensuring victory for IFC.

At the Selayang Municipal Council (MPS) Stadium, PDRM FC defeated Kelantan The Real Warriors (TRW) 1-0 to collect maximum points at home.

The solitary goal for the Sang Saka Biru squad was obtained through Eizrul Ashraf Nor Effendy, who fired a shot into the visitors' goal after receiving a pass from Tae-Su Park in the 26th minute.

Eddy Gapil's squad, however, remains at the bottom of the standings with 10 points from 17 matches, while Kelantan TRW has accumulated 15 points and occupies 10th place.
