PARIS, Feb 25 (Bernama-dpa) — The director general of the 2030 Winter Olympics organising committee, Cyril Linette, has resigned following internal disputes, the Le Parisien newspaper reported on Tuesday, citing a statement from the committee.
According to media reports, there's been "insurmountable differences of opinion" with the committee's chairman, Edgar Grospiron.
Linette's resignation follows the departure of three other executives.
Also according to media reports, French President Emmanuel Macron is applying pressure and has set a deadline of March 15 for the establishment of a functioning organising committee.
The 2030 Games are to take place in the French Alps region.
