PUTRAJAYA, Oct 22 (Bernama) -- Negotiations on the distribution of seats between Pakatan Harapan (PH) and Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS) for the 17th Sabah State Election are at the final stage, said PH secretary-general Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail.
In addition, Saifuddin Nasution, who is also the Home Minister, confirmed that negotiations between PH and Barisan Nasional (BN) have been completed.
"I can confirm that the allocation of seats between PH and BN has been completed. PH and GRS are now at the final stage, and as the PH secretary-general entrusted with this responsibility, I will finalise it soon.
"Last week I was in Kota Kinabalu to conduct these negotiations. As usual, negotiations can never be completed after just one round. Once finalised, I will inform the media,” he told a media conference at the National Drug Addiction Science Symposium 2025 here today.
The Election Commission (EC) has fixed Nov 29 as polling day for the 17th Sabah State Election, while nomination is set for Nov 15 and early voting on Nov 25.
Elaborating on the possibility of three-cornered fights in the state election, Saifuddin Nasution said it was too early to make such an assumption.
“It is too premature for me to assume that,” he added.
