BN CANDIDATE SAMASUDDIN PLEDGES ECONOMIC EMPOWERMENT FOR WOMEN IN TANJUNG BATU

TAWAU, Nov 18 (Bernama) -- Barisan Nasional’s (BN) candidate for the Tanjung Batu state seat, Samasuddin Yusop, is determined to help empower women economically in the constituency, if he is given the mandate in the upcoming 17th Sabah State Election.

Samasuddin said that his efforts will focus on providing business networking platforms and strengthening skills development among young women.

“For women voters, one of the key findings from our previous Jelajah BN programme was the need for a platform to market their products. Many women here are home-based entrepreneurs, and they have requested assistance with marketing.

“We will look into the needs of women voters in the Tanjung Batu constituency, and provide support by bringing in the relevant agencies to guide them - starting from production and packaging, right up to digital marketing,” he said.

He said this when met by Bernama at the Titik Temu Pasir Putih Block C programme, here.

He said that, during the Jelajah BN programme, female youth in the Tanjung Batu constituency also expressed their wishes for greater access to Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET), to help improve their economic prospects.

Samasuddin added that, if given the mandate by Tanjung Batu voters in the 17th Sabah state election, he would focus on creating job opportunities for young people in the constituency.

Early voting for the Sabah polls is set for Nov 25, with polling day on Nov 29.
